Biography:
Dr. M. Akhyar Farrukh
completed his B.Sc (Hons) in Chemistry and M.Sc in Physical
Chemistry with first class with first positions in both
examinations. He has been duly awarded THREE GOLD MEDALS for the
best student of the Faculty of Science of the University. He did his
Ph.D in the field of Physical Chemistry in 2003 and completed his
first Postdoctoral research on Surface Chemistry/Catalysisin 2007 in Brazil and second on
Nanotechnologyin 2010 in
Malaysia on a fellowship awarded by TWAS, Italy. He has been awarded
“Young Chemist Award” by International Union of Pure and Applied
Chemistry (IUPAC), USA in Italy in 2007 and nominated by World
Association of Young Scientists (WAYS) as a delegate to participate
in the World Science Form in Hungary in 2007 and 2009. He
participated as a representative of Pakistan in the first Assembly
of the UNESCO-affiliated WAYS in Morocco in 2004 and other
international conferences in Brazil, Italy, Germany, Spain, Malaysia
and Uruguay sponsored by UNESCO, IUPAC, TWAS, WAYS and PSF. He is a
member of eight national/international professional bodies. He is on
the editorial board of the four international journals. He has also
been approved by the Higher Education Commission as a Ph.D
supervisor and is included in the directory of “Productive
Scientists of Pakistan”, 2005 and 2007.
