Did Matric with Science from Sheikhupura and then did
F.Sc from Sheikhupura College with Pre-medical group. Joined lslamia
College Civil Lines Lahore for B Sc and then joined Govt College
Lahore and did M Sc in 1976 with distinction and was awarded
university Gold Medal and Sir William
Roberts Gold Medal and was also awarded Academic Roll of Honor
Joined Punjab Education department as Lecturer on 16.12.1976. And
taught F.Sc, B.Sc and M.Sc classes in G.C. Lahore. In 1980 was
awarded COTS by Govt. of Pakistan for
Ph.D. Joined.
Plymouth (U K) in 1981 for PhD & did Ph D in 1984 on
Fish and Amphibian Immunology Joined back Govt College Lahore
in 1984 Start Teaching B Sc and M Sc classes In 1988 was selected by
Punjab Public Service Commission as Assistant Professor and
Associate Professor in 1995 & Professor in
1998 Since 2003 have been acting as Chairperson of the department
During this period supervised more than 80 M Sc theses, 12 M Phil
and 1 PhD student Published more than 56 research papers in Journals
of international repute Participated in several National &
International Conferences & Seminars and presented several research
Papers
At present teaching, M Sc & M Phil classes of Zoology
and M Phil of Botany department (Bio-technology) Conducting research
on Fish Immunology, Environmental Thxicology and Fisheries. The
research group includes 3 M Sc, 2 M Phil and more than 7 PhD
students which also includes 3 HEC awardees as well. For research
there is well-equipped and well-maintained research lab (Immunology
& Environmental Toxicology Lab) to conduct research at all
Post-graduate levels.
Act as a technical expert in interviews, conducted by
Punjab Public Service Commission Also as
an expert in the selection Board of GCU, Faisalabad, and Sargodha
Universities. Was nominated for the award of Pride of Performance
twice.
Working as a Co-Investigator on a Research Project on
the biohazards of pollution of Hadiara Drain funded by the
Pakistan Science Foundation, Islamabad. |
