The Computer Science Society of GC University is actively
playing its role for the grooming and betterment of
students. It is providing full opportunities to its students
by conducting market oriented seminars, on campus hiring by
companies, by conducting valuable trainings. The society had
arranged a number of events within university and had
participated in many competitions, seminars, etc outside the
university.
ACM Society
TOP
GCU-ACM Student Chapter is actively working in
collaboration with ACM USA, to promote the awareness of IT
among students. Chapter has organized many activities like
Industry Visits, Programming Competitions, Seminars, and
Mentorship for students. The chapter has provided a platform
for those students who want to enhance their knowledge and
skill in different areas.
IEEE Society

The IEEE GCU Student Branch Lahore’s current body was
formulated in November 2008. It currently holds Seven Office
Bearers and 9 Section Representatives. This student branch
has been very active since and is desired by Lahore Section
to remain for next academic year as well (2009-2010). It has
not only participated in a variety of events but also
organized them like Project Exhibition, Networking and
Programming Quiz Competition and IEEE Members training
workshop.

GCU COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT THREE DAY IEEE LAHORE
SECTION STUDENT’S CONGRESS
Computer Sciences Department has hosted a three-day IEEE
Lahore Section Student Congress. The event was organized on
the theme of Nurturing Global Camaraderie included
discussions, papers presentations, integration activities,
training workshops and creativity contests. A large number of
students from various universities and colleges took part in
the event.
Addressing the concluding ceremony, GCU Dean of Sciences Dr
Aminul Haq said that congresses, seminars, conferences and
training workshops play vital role in learning and developing
professional skills in students. He said that more and more
students should present their research papers and other work
in such events because it gives them confidence. Dr. Saleem
Khan Chairman Computer Science department and Asma Basharat
also spoke on the occasion. Later, prizes and certificates
were distributed among students.
