In pursuing the GCU vision, we focus on achieving the following
aims:

To achieve
Research excellence in all academic areas.

To establish new
Schools and Departments and launching new
Programmes such as: Accountancy; Biophysics, Chemical
Technology, Earth Science, Finance, Law, Microbiology and
Genetics, Performing Arts, Pharmacy, Polymer Science, Space
Science, Textile Chemistry and Urban Studies.

To establish leading research groups in Atomic Physics,
Biotechnology, Clinical and School Psychology, Entrepreneurship,
Industrial Chemistry, Mathematics, Plasma Physics, Sustainable
Development and Telecommunications.

To increase the number and proportion of Postgraduate research
students.

To continue to recruit, develop and retain staff members of the
highest quality.

To develop and implement a sustainable Infrastructure
Development Programme across the University.
Guided by this vision, we attempt to ensure three things in our
Academic Programmes:
(i)
assurance of quality teaching;
(ii)
high standards of research and
(iii)
organisational and managerial efficiency. In order to convert our
vision into a reality, we create research groups within disciplines,
design new curricula and thus ensure the quality of our graduates.
