ATTENDANCE CRITERIA
FOR B.A/B.Sc (HONS) & MS./M. Phil
-
A student must attend 85% of the lecturers
delivered in each course in a semester to be eligible to
appear in the Final Examination of that course.
-
In case, the student does not attend 85% of
the lecturers in any course in a semester, he/ she will not
be eligible to appear in the Final Examination of that course/s.
-
He/ She will be awarded “IN” (Incomplete) grade
in such course/s. Such students will have to repeat the
concerned course/s in a forthcoming semester which offers
the course/s.
REVISED ATTENDANCE/
LEAVE RULES:
-
Minimum eligibility requirement of 85% attendance
is applicable to B.A/B.Sc (Hons) /M.A/M.Sc/M.S/M. Phil and 75% for
F.A/F.Sc. students.

Two (02) days casual leave in a month which was
admissible earlier will not be granted w.e.f.
01-02-2008.
-
However, leave will be granted to the students in
unavoidable circumstances as under:-
-
Medical Leave (on medical grounds/ certificate)
duly verified by the Medical Officer, GCU.
-
03 days leave on the death of the close
relatives. e.g. father/ mother, grand father/ mother, brother/
sister, uncle/aunt etc
-
03 days leave on the marriage of the real
brother/ sister
-
Overseas students for renewal/ extension of study
visa or visit of homeland during unavoidable circumstances.
-
Tests of students e.g. in Armed Forces/ Police,
LUMS, SAT, etc.
-
Required contact hours/credit hours are i.e. 48 in
each subject will be strictly observed in a semester.
-
Term examination will start within a week of the end
of the semester so as to allow updating of data on attendance etc.

Duty leave will only be granted by the Deputy
Registrar (Admission) on the recommendations of the in-charge of a
game/ society.
-
Such recommendations must be sent to the Deputy
Registrar (Admission) by the in-charge of a game/ society
before a student proceeds for participation in
a game or a co-curricular activity.
-
Such recommendations shall not be accepted
after the participation of a student in the game/
co-curricular activity.
