The
faculty at the department is cognizant of the concerns and challenges of
the globalized world. The department has recently redesigned and updated
its BSc (Hons) courses to meet the market demand and to equip the young
minds for advanced professional careers. BSc (Hons) programme covers
Geography, Spatial/Urban Planning, Landuse Planning and Management,
Water Resource Management and Disaster Management etc.
After signing MoU with Punjab Metreology
Department (PMD), Lahore the department of Geography has also updated
its BSc (Hons) programme in order to equip the students with the skills
required at PMD. Therefore the new combination of Geography with
Mathematics and Economics have been introduced in the new academic
session.
Mission Statement
To enhance
appreciation and understanding of the Subject and integrated studies,
the Department of Geography has a mission of inter disciplinary approach
and inter sectoral collaboration in academics domain and research field
by training the young ambitious generation in recent technologies, (GIS,
RS, Geometrics, etc) on a sustained basis, to enable them to cope with
future challenges and in promoting research culture.
