INTRODUCTION
These partnerships are networked at an institution to
institution level. The strategic partnerships are aimed at
internationalization of the institutions, capacity building, and
building effective and sustainable impact. Currently, 10
partnerships are running successfully across Pakistan operating
across the macro level and including sector bodies, government
policy makers and institution levels. In Pakistan the 1st round
of Strategic Partnerships has been running successfully. The
sectors in Pakistan and UK have shown great interest.
British Council Pakistan and Higher Education Commission of
Pakistan have entered into a new agreement for a joint programme
of New Strategic Partnerships to be launched for three years in
2010.

Pakistan International Strategic Partnerships in Research and
Education 2010
British Council INSPIRE funding is being made available to
support the development of higher education academic and
research partnerships between the UK and Pakistani Institutions
INSPIRE Strategic Partnerships are part of a five-year programme
designed to grow high level strategic relationships between UK
Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Higher Education
Institutions in the Central & South Asia region. Selection of
projects for support will be according to clear criteria that
include high quality, innovative research and / or academic
excellence.

Funding is available for both bilateral and / or multilateral

Please note that British Council will hold Proposal Guidance
workshops on 8 of July. If your institution wants to be a part
of proposal guidance workshops please submit your application
