GCU awards tWO PhDs IN ZOOLOGY AND ONE IN MATHEMATICS

The GC University Lahore has awarded doctors of philosophy degrees in the disciplines of Zoology and Mathematics. Muhammad Imran Qureshi completed his research on the topic of “Computing the Stanley Depth” under the supervision of noted mathematician Dr Dorin Popescu. Atif Yaqub and Zahid Iqbal Hussain are notified PhDs in Zoology on the topics of “Biosorptive Potential and Binding Sites of Heavy Metals on the Cell Wall of Selected Filamentous Algea” and “Some Studies on Bio-Ecology of Pheasant tailed Jacana, Hydrophasianus Chirurgus in Punjab, Pakistan” respectively. Their theses were supervised by Prof. Dr. Sharif Mughal.

GCU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Ikram-Ul-Haq (SI) congratulated the scholars on the completion of their PhD programme.

PROF. KHALID SALEEM PASSES AWAY

GCU Lahore Staff Secretary Prof. Khalid Saleem has passed away. A large of university teachers and students attended his funeral prayers at 225 Ravi Park.

GCU Vice Chancellor, paying tribute to the services of Prof. Khalid Saleem, expressed grief on his sad demise. In a condolence message, the vice chancellor prayed the Allah Almighty to give courage to the family of Prof Khalid Saleem to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
