WATCH SOCIETY EXECUTIVE BODY APPOINTED

Watch Society (MWS) and congratulated them on their appointment.

Maximum funds to be given to GCU societies:
VICE CHANCELLOR
Prof.
(Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman; Izaz-I-Kamal; Vice
Chancellor, GC University Lahore has vowed to provide maximum
support and financial resources to the University’s publications,
clubs and societies, saying that they
inculcate
leadership qualities in students besides enhancing social
interaction, self-discipline and confidence among students. “The
University will spend maximum funds for your character-building and
to provide world-class education facilities,” the Vice Chancellor
said while talking to the students during a surprise visit to the
Membership Desk of the
Media Watch Society.

The Vice
Chancellor appreciated the participation of students in
co-curricular activities, saying that it would play a vital role in
their character-building. He also laid a stress on holding seminars,
lecturers and conferences to raise awareness and knowledge of
students regarding the latest scientific researches and social
issues. He said academic curriculum is not all that universities
should offer to their students. He also advised students to develop
a habit of reading and article writing for the literary magazines
and other university’s publications.

Watch Society To groom the students in the art of information
dissemination
The GCU Lahore constituted the Media Watch
Society to groom the students in the art of information
dissemination and critical news analysis. Established at the
university level, this society will enable the students to have
hands-on experience of the latest working of leading newspapers and
television channels. It will organize conferences, debates,
seminars, training workshops and invited lectures by renowned
opinion makers. It will also generate internship opportunities for
the GCU students by creating linkages between well-established media
houses and the GC University Lahore.
Musadaq Sultan, In-charge Public Relations
Department is appointed as the adviser of the society.
