Introduction
TOP
The Political
Science department is teaching post graduate courses since 1964. The 4
Year (Hons) Degree Programme was introduced in 2005 to prepare the
candidates to comprehend the emerging needs and challenges of global
politics, economy and international relations. To further upgrade the
academic qualifications, the two year MPhil Programme was introduced in
September 1999. Since 2009, we are offering PhD Programme as well. In
2012, one year programme under the title of Diploma in Pakistan Affairs
(DPA) has been introduced. The objective of DPA is to enable the
students to comprehend history, economy and new challenges confronted by
the state and society in Pakistan alongside emerging trends in politics
of Pakistan. The DPA will orientate the students to join professional
fields like media and human services based organizations like NGOs and
IGOs.

liberal democratic values and positive attitudes in the students. The
degree holders of Political Science, therefore, perform exceptionally
well in the competitive examinations to join Provincial and Federal
Civil Services. They can be the members of Judicial Bar and the Bench.
Many of them also join the armed forces and the governmental and
nongovernmental organizations of international repute. Teaching is also
an attractive choice for many of them.
