Vice Chancellor's Message
Top
Universities in the 21st Century are expected not only to
disseminate knowledge but also to create it. Besides, all good
universities have to ensure that the quality of knowledge and their
product i.e. students are of high standards. This would demand
student-centered academic programmes with a focus on a clear vision of
the national needs. Thus, good academic programmes need to be useful for
the students as well as relevant from social perspective. In our
view, any world class modern university should prepare its plans with
reference to three guiding principles: efficiency, relevance and
quality. So should GC University, Lahore. G.C. University, Lahore
is a modern, demand-driven, research-based, quality-conscious,
futuristic and affordable institution. Guided by this vision, we attempt
to ensure three things in our University: Quality assurance of teaching,
Quality assurance of research and Organizational and managerial
efficiency. For having an internal self-assessment system of Quality
Assurance/Enhancement, the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) has been
established in the GC University, Lahore, which will design and develop
activities and mechanisms for capacity building in the specified areas
of academic quality. I strongly hope that QEC will play vital role in
the development and achievement of academic quality and standards in the
coming years.

response to the Chancellor's Directive for the development and adoption
of a system of continuous self-assessment by the public sector
universities, the worthy Vice Chancellor of
QM-QA Committee Members with the Vice
Chancellor GCU
GC
University, Lahore has constituted a QM-QA Committee on Oct 15, 2004 to
develop and adopt a system of procedures for Quality Management and
Quality Assurance of effective learning and teaching in GC University,
Lahore. The Committee is comprised of the following.
