The subject of statistics was first introduced in
Government College in 1955. Postgraduate classes were started in 1987, M
Phil and PhD classes were started in 1999. Since 1998 Prof. Dr. Muhammad
Khalid Pervaiz has been working as the chairperson of the Statistics
Department. The Department is playing a pivotal role to enhance the
level of learning in Statistics to cope with the modern needs.
GC University has its unique traditions. It holds a
charisma to engender the great depth of loyalty and affection among
those who have studied and worked here. Old Ravian Union and so many
other societies have served the GC/GC University for many years through
various curricular and co-curricular activities. The Department of
Statistics has established the Ravian Statistician Alumni (RSA) in the
year 2005. At present we are facing many problems in contacting the
Ravian Statisticians as many of our old students are not available at
their previous addresses. We request all the registered members of
Alumni the young and the old Ravian Statisticians that they should
communicate this information to their friends and colleagues for a wider
circulation. We will appreciate your efforts to be in touch and look
forward to seeing you at the Ravian Statisticians Alumni event expected
to be held on 8th July, 2006.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The aims of Launching RSA are to
bridge the gap between the young and experienced statisticians through
the creation of unity among all those who have been a part of the
esteemed department and have some sort of link with this Prestigious
Institution.

To establish the academic and
professional links among Ravian Statisticians.

To arrange annual get together so
that the young and old Ravian statisticians can meet fellow Alumni and
catch up with former friends.
-
To keep the Alumni in touch with the
academic developments in the department of Statistics.
-
To establish the co-ordination
between the working statisticians and the young statisticians of
different sessions.
CRITERIA OF BECOMING THE MEMBER
TOP
Any one who has
either studied statistics for at least two years and got the degree
through/from GC University or has taught in GC/GCU for five years or
more will be eligible for membership. Please
