INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Pakistan Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology (PJSCP) is a research Journal now published biannually, June and December issues every year, by the Department of Psychology, GC University, Lahore. The PJSCP provides a forum for dissemination of findings related to social and clinical areas of Psychology, although not totally excluding other fields. The Journal aims to enhance the understanding of social, environmental and cultural factors in the etiology and outcomes of mental health problems as affecting individuals and society. The Journal welcomes articles from psychology, psychiatry, sociology and other disciplines allied to mental health and well-being. The importance is given to original and empirical research. However, comprehensive and up-to-date review articles are also considered for publication. In addition to regular length articles, brief reports are also published for maximum utilization of the space. The PJSCP is a peer reviewed Journal and it follows the blind-reviewing policy. PJSCP is included in the list of HEC Recognized Journals in the “Y” category and is abstracted in American Psychological Association’s database PsychINFO.

Submission of manuscripts: Original manuscript along with its two copies should be submitted to the Editor. Authors are requested to include with each copy of the manuscript a cover sheet, which shows the title of the study, the authors’ name, the institutional affiliation, and address and email of corresponding author along with running head and 4 keywords. The first page of text should omit the author’s name and affiliation. However, it should include the title of the research. It is desirable to duly acknowledge the contribution of all the persons, organizations and institutions involved in the research.  The corresponding authors have to submit duly filled in agreement form given on the website of PJSCP with manuscript submitted for the Journal.

The authors are strongly encouraged to submit manuscripts electronically or on CD prepared using MS Word and should be clearly labeled with the authors’ names, file name and software version. Each manuscript should be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources. All accepted articles will become the property of the publisher.

All parts of the manuscripts should be typewritten, double spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Manuscript pages should be numbered consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 200 words. The author should also mention 4-5 key words.

Manuscripts, including tables, figures and references, should be prepared in accordance with the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.). Further instructions can be obtained from the Departmental web page at www.gcu.edu.pk/Soc&ClinPsyJour.htm

Tables and Figures: Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should also be completely labeled.

Reprints: A copy of Journal and ten reprints are supplied free of cost. Additional reprints may be obtained on ordering in advance from the Editor on payment.
