Sociology empowers students intellectually through developing their
understanding of various social phenomena and human behaviour within a
given social structure. For a sociologist, human behaviour is the
outcome of various social factors and institutions. Approaches being
used for sociological investigation vary from the scientific to the
interpretive. Sociology also enhances understanding about local and
international social issues.
