The Government College University Lahore on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Enablers, a reputed training organisation, to initiate technological and skill-based learning courses for its students.
"It is a continuation and first step towards practical implementation of "Taleem Aur Hunar Sath Sath"; the drive we started in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to create awareness and opportunities that foster skills along with formal education," said Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Asghar Zaidi.
He was addressing MoU signing ceremony between GCU Lahore and Enablers that would deliver top-of-the-line training to GCU students. Enablers Chief Executive Officer Saqib Azhar and senior faculty members of GCU were also present.
Saqib Azhar said that "Taleem Aur Hunar Sath Sath (skills with formal education)" was a great campaign aiming to mitigate the traditional 'rat race' mindset in the country by boosting skill-based learning and entrepreneurial mindset amongst the fresh graduates.
Director of Youth Development Center Mubashir Hussain pointed out to great potential in our work towards empowering youth.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Zaidi said that the MoU with Enablers is the first major step of GCU to promote technological and skill-based learning among its students in collaboration with reputed organizations. He said these skill-based courses would not only help GCU students in securing better jobs but also help them become entrepreneurs and work on international platforms.
He also announced that GCU would also provide affiliation to Enablers in subjects of Computer and Commerce & Finance.
Earlier, GCU Commerce & Finance Department Chairperson Nosheen Rasool and Saqib Azhar sign MoU between GCU and Enablers for skill-based training of her department's students.
Director Career Guidance and Placement Center Sufian Bajar was also present.
