Seminar on Indus Water Treaty Held at GCU, Experts Emphasize Construction of Dams

A seminar titled "Indus Water Treaty: Past, Present, and Future" was organized at Government College University (GCU) under the auspices of its Quaid-e-Azam Political Science Society.  Experts at the seminar underscored the importance of water conservation and the urgent need for dam construction.
The event featured speeches from Chairman of the Sindh Tas Water Council Pakistan, Muhammad Suleman; former President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdul Basit, Chairman of the Institute of Engineers Pakistan, Masood Ali Khan; Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Anwar Mehmood Khan; and Chairperson of the Department of Political Science at GCU, Professor Dr. Fauzia Ghani.
The speakers highlighted the historical significance of the Indus Water Treaty, its impact on Pakistan's water resources, and the challenges posed by climate change and increasing water demands. They stressed that constructing new dams is crucial for sustainable water management, economic stability, and energy production.
