Dr. Daniyal Nagi, a specialist in Internal Medicine, donated one million rupees to Government College University Lahore on Friday to establish a scholarship and gold medal in honor of his late father, Anees Nagi, a renowned writer, critic, and alumnus of the university.

The scholarship aims to support a deserving postgraduate student in the University’s Urdu Department, while the prestigious Anees Nagi Medal will be awarded to the top achiever in MPhil Urdu Literature.

The donation ceremony was held on the University’s campus. Dr. Daniyal Nagi presented the donation to Vice Chancellor Prof. Shazia Bashir, in the presence of faculty members and Anees Nagi's daughter.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Daniyal Nagi underscored the importance of such initiatives, urging fellow Old Ravians to join hands in aiding current students of their alma mater.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Shazia Bashir announced that the generous donation will be utilized to establish a perpetual scholarship and medal in the name of Anees Nagi, ensuring a lasting impact through the University's Endowment Fund.
