A memorandum of understanding was signed here on Wednesday between the Government College University (GCU) Lahore and University of Health Sciences (UHS) for research and academic collaboration.
GCU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi and UHS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Javed Akram signed the 15-point accord at a graceful ceremony here at GCU Syndicate Committee Room. Senior faculty and staff members of both the universities were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Javed Akram said it’s a proud moment for me as he is alumni of the Government College Lahore. I’m very happy that my alma mater is led by a very dynamic person Prof. Asghar Zaidi,” he said.
Prof. Akram elaborated that UHS needs GCU’s support for their departments of Medical Journalism and Happiness.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Zaidi said this collaboration would enhance quality of education and research at both universities. He added that GCU has recently initiated BS (Hons) Medical Lab Technology and is also going to start BS (Hons.) Medical Lab Technology, and their collaboration with UHS would enhance the quality of these programmes.
Later, the GCU Chemistry Department and Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM) also signed MoU. GCU Dean of Life Sciences Prof. Dr Ahmad Adnan, Controller Examinations Shahzad Ahmed PSIM Secretary General Somia Iqtadar was also present.
