GCU has always been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at preventing drug abuse and promoting a healthier environment for its students. With the increasing psychosocial stressors faced by students, GCU recognizes the need to develop psychological resilience and leadership skills to counter the strains of society.
To raise awareness among students and provide healthy alternatives, GCU Anti-Narcotics Society successfully concluded their session of 2022-23 by organizing a seminar titled "THE RIPPLE EFFECT; creating change in the fight against drugs." The event created an enthusiastic and vibrant environment, generating awareness about the risks of narcotics and promoting a drug-free campus.
The seminar featured various activities, including the Theatrical Wing of GCU Anti-Narcotics, which delivered an exceptional performance with their skit titled "Three different stories, one common tragedy." The skit captivated the audience and received thunderous applause.
Brig. Sikandar Hayat Choudhary, the newly appointed Force Commander of Anti-Narcotics Force Regional Directorate Punjab, shared insights into the adversity and misery caused by drug addiction. He discussed strategies to combat this menace and motivated students to be resilient leaders who can say NO TO DRUGS.
Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi, the Vice Chancellor of GCU, delivered the concluding speech. He highlighted the steps and initiatives taken on campus to eradicate drug abuse and raise awareness among the masses. To symbolize the commitment to this cause, Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi led an Awareness Walk from Bokhari Auditorium to Inter-cafe, spreading the message of awareness against drug abuse.
GCU Anti-Narcotics Society remains dedicated to creating a happier and healthier atmosphere, ensuring a strong and secure system within the institution. By equipping students with resilience and leadership skills, GCU aims to foster a drug-free environment and empower its students to become future leaders.
