Government College University (GCU) Lahore's new Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah, convened an important meeting on Friday with the heads of all academic and administrative departments to deliberate on the challenges confronting the university.
Prof. Ali Shah, a distinguished academic and current Vice Chancellor of the University of Punjab, was recently assigned the additional responsibilities of GCU’s Vice Chancellor by the Punjab government, with the Governor of Punjab’s approval.
In the meeting, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah stressed the importance of taking measures to improve GCU’s international ranking and enhance its academic excellence.
Reflecting on his experience, he remarked, “It is a great honor for me to serve as the Vice Chancellor of two esteemed institutions, Punjab University and GCU Lahore. Previously, I also had the privilege of serving Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad as well.”
“Although my time and mandate at GCU are limited, I am dedicated to making impactful improvements. Any progress I can contribute will be a matter of personal pride for him,” the Vice Chancellor said
The teaching and administrative staff assured the Vice Chancellor of their full support. Faculty members also presented key issues faced by the university.
