GCU Debating Society clinches CMH Trifecta Team Trophy 2025

The Debating Society of Government College University (GCU) Lahore has secured the coveted CMH Trifecta Team Trophy 2025 at the CMH Medical College Lahore, marking a significant achievement in national intercollegiate debating competitions.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry congratulated the Debating Society and the winning team, saying their achievement reflects their hard work, talent, and the university’s commitment to students’ personal growth and skill development.
In the Declamation category, GCU students Nalain Abbas and Hassan Shehryar lifted the team trophy. Hassan Shehryar was declared the Best English Speaker in both rounds of the event, earning individual distinction for his oratory skills.
The university’s delegates also dominated the Model United Nations (MUN) category, where the GCU MUN Wing was awarded the Best Delegation Team Trophy. Zarbakht Arif received the Best Delegate Award in the World Health Organization committee, while Aneeqa was declared Best Delegate in the National Crisis Cell. Mekaal Mirza and Fatima Ismail were recognised with the Outstanding Diplomacy Award at the United Nations Security Council, and Ahmad Wahla and Bilal Abid received the same honour in the United Nations Human Rights Council. Fasiha Bukhari was awarded for Outstanding Diplomacy in the Joint Session of Parliament, while Noor ul Ain received the same accolade in the United Nations Women committee.
Additional awards included Honourable Mention for Awais Malik in the World Health Organization and for Eifa binte Nadeem in the Futuristic Crisis Cell. Special Mention awards were also given to Saniya and Najaf in the United Nations Security Council.
In the Urdu Parliamentary category, the GCU team comprising Abdullah Liaquat, Hassan, and Husnain secured the Runners-up Team Trophy, concluding the tournament with accolades across multiple formats.
