GCU Holds Intra-Departmental Moot Court Competition

The Department of Law at Government College University (GCU), Lahore, organized its first intra-departmental moot court competition to enhance students’ advocacy skills, legal reasoning, and critical thinking. Twelve student teams participated, presenting legal arguments evaluated by a panel of faculty members and practicing legal professionals.
The final round was judged by prominent legal experts and former justices, including Justice (r) Ahmad Raza, Justice Hafiz Tariq Naseem, Justice (r) Ibad-ur-Rehman Lodhi, and Mr. Shamim Malik (ASC).
Justice (r) Ahmad Raza commended the high standard of legal analysis demonstrated by the participants, while Justice Hafiz Tariq Naseem noted their clarity and confidence during oral arguments. Justice (r) Ibad-ur-Rehman Lodhi applauded the university’s initiative, emphasizing the role of academic forums in preparing competent legal professionals.
According to Incharge Departmet of Law Muhammad Azeem Farooqi, the moot focused on complex legal questions involving the intersection of fundamental rights and the jurisdiction of special judicial forums. The event was organized by the Ravian Law Society. It concluded with an awards and certificate distribution ceremony.
