The Government College University Lahore on Friday held a solidarity rally on campus to express unwavering support for its armed forces in the wake of recent regional tensions. The event saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members, administrative staff, and a large number of students.
The rally was led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry and Secretary Higher Education Punjab, Dr. Farrukh Naveed, who also addressed the participants.
Speaking at the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Omer Chaudhry stated, “We are a peace-loving nation, but we know how to defend ourselves.” He highlighted the professional excellence of the armed forces, noting that the successful downing of five Indian warplanes and dozens of advanced drones was a clear demonstration of Pakistan Army's unmatched strategic capabilities and preparedness. “We are not only driven by passion but are also ahead in skill and strategy,” he added. “This success is a stern warning to any adversary.”
Dr. Farrukh Naveed, Secretary Higher Education, lauded the armed forces for their resolute response and reminded that Pakistan’s 250 million citizens stand shoulder to shoulder with their military like a fortified iron wall. “Our desire for peace should never be mistaken for weakness,” he said. He also emphasised the vital role of teachers in guiding and preparing the nation in the right direction during such critical times.
Participants of the rally paid glowing tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their timely and effective response to aggression, and reiterated their firm commitment to national sovereignty and unity.
