GCU Lahore hosts third International Conference on Emerging Research Trends in Geography

The Department of Geography at Government College University (GCU) Lahore organized its third International Conference titled "Emerging Research Trends in Geography." The opening session was addressed by Dr. Shakeel Mahmood, Chairperson of the Geography Department, along with distinguished scholars including Professor Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, Dr. Basanta Raj Adhikari, and Professor Dr. Safdar Ali Shirazi.
The conference aimed to promote the exchange of modern research, technology, and emerging trends in the field of geography, while fostering international academic collaborations and encouraging research on pressing environmental and social challenges.
Experts, researchers, and policymakers from around the world participated in the event.
A total of 92 research papers were presented by scholars representing countries such as Egypt, China, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Gambia, Iraq, Nepal, and Pakistan.
The sessions featured in-depth discussions on a range of contemporary topics, including geospatial technology, artificial intelligence, Google Earth Engine, hydrological and scientific modeling, and other innovative research methodologies.
