Lala Shiv Ram Kashyap, BSC(Physiology),was appointed as Assistant Professor of Biology in1906.He went to Cambridge university for higher studies in 1910 and returned in 1912 after obtaining National Science Tripos, and was appointed as Professor of Botany.
Kashyap Museum is one of the oldest Botanical Museum in 1914, at Department of Botany, Government college, university Lahore. This Botanical Museum has valuable collection of various plant groups which has been periodically extended by the faculty of Botany Department. This Museum has been named as Kashyap Museum in recognition of massive contribution of Rai Bahadur Dr.Shiv Ram Kashyaph(Prof.).He took keen interest in the collection of plant specimens, not only from the Indian subcontinent, but also from china ,Indonesia,UK and Philipines.
