Ravi Kindercare celebrated Eid-e-Milaad with full religious fervor. The kids recited naat sharif and events from the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) relating to children and their importance in family and society were narrated at this occasion. The children showed great enthusiasm at the occasion and school going children expressed great pride in belonging to a religion which supports humanity and peace for all.
GCU Daycare, known as Ravi Kindercare, funded by the Government of Punjab, was inaugurated by Minister for Women Development. The honorable Vice Chancellor Government College University, Lahore thanked the Government of Punjab for their support to set up a state of the art daycare system at the campus. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the staff in setting up a system of where every child receives a healthy and secure environment with a focus on physical and emotional development.
After the inaugural of the daycare, a thoroughly enjoyable role taking activity was arranged at Ravi Kindercare where kids took on the roles of community worker, builders, artists, doctors, health awareness workers, psychologists, and teachers. Each child defined her/his role in terms of activities to be undertaken and shared new ideas of what can they do to make their physical and social environment better.
A DIY ( Do It Yourself) Wall was started at Ravi Kindercare where the kids painted a theme on how do they feel about various things in actual and imagined life. The kids made drawings about Pakistan, its imagined future, seasons, day and night, and other real and fictional characters as unicorn and super heroes. The DIY will be a regular practice from now onwards.
